Icy platinum, creamy champagne, sun-kissed honey or a soft lived-in bronde — the blondes at Hair Avenue Braddon are built around your skin tone, your natural base and how much upkeep you actually want. Every lightening service uses Wella Blondor with built-in bond protection, a custom toner and a treatment, so your blonde looks expensive and feels healthy.

Blonde is the hardest colour to get right and the easiest to get wrong. Too much lift and the hair snaps; too little and it turns brassy within a fortnight; the wrong toner and a cool ash reads grey or a warm honey reads orange. Our Braddon colourists have spent years on exactly this — Krystle and Trin are blonde specialists by trade, and Kelly and Kayla build head-turning blondes every week — so you get a shade that suits you, sits well against your skin and grows out gracefully.
We work exclusively with Wella Professionals. Lightening is done with Wella Blondor, which lifts up to nine levels with built-in Bond Builder Technology for up to 97% less breakage, and every blonde service finishes with a custom toner, a treatment and a polished blow wave. The result is a blonde with shine, not straw.
Clients come to us from across Canberra — Civic, Turner, Reid, Ainslie, Dickson, Lyneham, O’Connor and Campbell are a few minutes away, and plenty travel in from Gungahlin, Belconnen, Woden and Queanbeyan for their blonde. Parking and the light rail are both close to the salon.
Tell us the blonde you have in mind, or bring a photo, and we’ll match it to a shade and a technique that works for your hair and your calendar.
The coolest blondes. Need the most lift and a regular toner to stay silver rather than yellow. Stunning on cool and neutral skin.
Soft, neutral blondes with a hint of warmth — flattering on almost everyone and forgiving between appointments.
Warm, sunlit tones that glow on olive and warm skin and pair beautifully with a natural darker base.
Blonde blended through brunette for depth and dimension. The lowest-maintenance blonde we do — a refresh every three to four months.
Bright, chunky pieces around the face for instant lift with minimal foils. Adds on to any package or stands alone as a quick refresh.
Ultra-fine foils for a natural, grown-out-in-the-sun blonde with the softest regrowth line.
The most common question we hear is “can I get there in one go?” Usually the honest answer is it depends on where you’re starting. Natural or lightly coloured hair can normally reach a bright blonde in a single visit. Dark box dye, black tint or hair that has been bleached before often needs two or three sessions a few weeks apart, so we can lift gently, tone in between and keep the hair strong enough to enjoy the result.
That’s why every blonde journey starts with a free consultation. We look at your hair’s history and condition, agree on the end goal and the safest route to it, and give you an exact quote and timing before anything is mixed. If your hair isn’t ready for the lift you want, we’ll say so and set you up with a plan — we’d rather take an extra visit than send you home with damage.

A great blonde is a routine, not a one-off. This is the schedule most of our blondes settle into:
Canberra’s water and dry winters are hard on blonde, so we also cover clarifying and hydration in your home-care plan. For the full story, read our guides on how to stop blonde going brassy and how long balayage lasts.
At Hair Avenue Braddon a half-head of foils starts from $299, a full head of foils from $350 and balayage from $395, each including toner and a blow wave. Ultra blonde and colour correction is from $599. Midweek (Tuesday to Friday) blonde packages start from $275 and include 50% off a haircut. Final pricing depends on hair length, thickness and how much lift is needed, and you get an exact quote at your free consultation.
Often, yes. Natural or lightly coloured hair can usually reach a bright blonde in a single visit with Wella Blondor, which lifts up to 9 levels. Very dark, box-dyed or previously bleached hair may need two or three sessions spaced a few weeks apart so the hair stays strong. We tell you honestly at the consultation what is realistic in one visit.
Lightening always asks something of the hair, which is why we use Wella Blondor with built-in Bond Builder Technology for up to 97% less breakage, assess your hair before we start, and finish every blonde service with a treatment and a custom toner. Well-planned lifting on healthy hair leaves it soft and shiny, not straw-like.
Foils lift the hair from close to the root for an all-over, brighter blonde and need refreshing every 8 to 12 weeks. Balayage is hand-painted through the mid-lengths and ends for a softer, sun-kissed result that grows out without a line, so most clients refresh every 12 to 16 weeks. Many blondes combine the two — foils around the face for brightness with balayage through the lengths.
Toners fade gradually with washing, so most blondes book a Toner or Gloss Maintenance every 6 to 8 weeks to keep the shade cool, creamy or golden and shine high. It is a quick, bleach-free appointment from $165 that includes a blow wave.
Yes. Brassiness is usually under-lifted hair, a faded toner or mineral build-up from water. Depending on the cause we re-tone, lift a little further or use a clarifying treatment first, then send you home with the right care routine. Our guide on stopping blonde going brassy explains what to watch for between visits.
We do. Colour correction is booked as Balayage Ultra Blonde or Correction from $599 and always starts with a consultation, because removing dark box dye or evening out patchy bleach takes planning and sometimes more than one visit. Bring photos of your hair history and the result you want.
Allow around 3 hours for a full head of foils with toner and a blow wave, a little less for a half head, and longer for ultra blonde or corrective work. Balayage is usually 2.5 to 4 hours. We confirm the time when you book.
Cool skin tones usually shine in icy, ash and platinum blondes; warm and olive tones glow in honey, golden and caramel shades; neutral skin can wear almost anything, including creamy champagne and bronde. Your stylist looks at your skin, eye colour, natural base and how much upkeep you want before recommending a shade.
Yes. Consultations at Hair Avenue Braddon are complimentary. We assess the condition and history of your hair, agree on the shade and technique, and give you an exact quote and timing before anything is mixed. You can also book straight in online if you already know what you want.
