Great Lengths Tape-In Hair Extensions Have Arrived in Braddon

For years, the one thing we couldn’t offer at Hair Avenue was length. If your hair wouldn’t grow past your shoulders, or a big cut had left you missing the swish, we could colour it and cut it beautifully — but we couldn’t give you more of it. From this month, we can.

Hair Avenue Braddon is now an official Great Lengths salon, fitting Great Lengths Essenza tape-in extensions in Canberra. Great Lengths is the extension brand trusted by salons around the world, and we chose their tapes for the same reason we only use Wella colour: if it isn’t the best for your hair, it doesn’t come through our door.

How tape-in extensions work

A small section of your own hair is sandwiched between two slim wefts of real hair, each with a fine adhesive strip, so the tapes lie completely flat. A full head takes about an hour to fit for a small set, and the result moves like your own hair because it is real hair, colour-matched at the root, mid-lengths and ends.

As your hair grows, the tapes move with it. Every 6 to 8 weeks we take them out, re-tape them and move them back up to the root, then wash and blow wave so you leave finished. The same Great Lengths hair is reused each time, which makes tapes the lower-commitment, better-value way into extensions.

What it costs

It starts with a free 20-minute consultation and colour match. We check your hair’s condition and density, work out how many pieces you need and match Great Lengths Essenza hair against your own in daylight. You leave with an exact price, not a guess off a website.

From there, application is from $250 for up to 10 pieces, move-ups every 6–8 weeks are from $250 with removal and a blow wave included, and removal on its own is from $50.
